4.4-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southern California
Recent Seismic Activity in the Region
A light 4.4-magnitude earthquake shook Southern California on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The quake struck at 10:33 a.m. PST, with its epicenter approximately 10 miles northwest of Ridgecrest, California.
Additional Recent Earthquakes
In recent days, several other earthquakes have occurred in California and Nevada. On Friday, a 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck west of Los Angeles. Earlier in the week, a 3.6-magnitude earthquake was reported near Mammoth Lakes, California.
